Our Commitment to Transparency

Okanogan Land Trust is committed to operating with integrity, accountability, and transparency. We believe donors, partners, and community members deserve clear insight into how we steward resources and uphold our mission.

MISSION: Connecting Land & Community

From the Cascades to the Kettles, Canada to the Columbia, Okanogan Land Trust is a local nonprofit organization connecting people to the land and conserving and sustaining our working farms and ranches, wildlife habitats, and water resources for generations to come.

Land conservancy is a vital strategy for keeping natural resources on the land, maintaining the agricultural nature of rural communities, and protecting the clean air, water, and wildlife habitat afforded by large, interconnected, and undeveloped landscapes.

For over twenty years, OLT has used conservation easements to maintain the integrity of our landscape and ecosystems in the face of fragmentation, degradation, and habitat loss. We have helped keep working farms and ranches in production, with all the benefits they provide to our economy, food system, and landscape.

From rangeland to forestland, wetlands to shrub steppe, our work offers the potential to ameliorate the effects of climate change by offering refuge to native plants and wildlife and allowing them to move in search of favorable conditions.

Through the generosity and foresight of our donors and landowners, we will continue to do this work while exploring new opportunities and new conservation tools.
