About Us

Connecting Land And Community

Okanogan Land Trust is a non-profit conservation organization located in North Central Washington. We collaborate with landowners, community members, organizations, and businesses to conserve and protect what makes this place special: natural landscapes, wide open spaces, working farms and ranches, clean water, and abundant wildlife.

From the Cascade Mountains to the Kettle Crest, Canada to the Columbia River, our service area spans 2,251,564 acres, encompassing the Okanogan Valley, the Okanogan Highlands, and the western reaches of Ferry County.

Here, we protect the essential connections between people and place by conserving and sustaining our working farms and ranches, wildlife habitats, and water resources for generations to come.

Keeping working lands and wild places alive—for good.

Our Roots Run Deep

Our story began in the 1970s, with a grassroots effort to confront habitat loss and the degradation of local lands. That act of purpose sparked a regional movement that evolved to become Okanogan Land Trust, reflecting a broader reach and the enduring stewardship that continues to guide our work today.

Milestone Coming into View

Today, OLT is stewarding 35 conserved properties spanning 18,455 acres, with new projects underway that support our mission and advance our long-term conservation goals.

Goal: 20,000 conserved acres by 2027.

Every acre we protect reflects collaboration with landowners, neighbors, and the broader community. Together, we’re keeping the Okanogan’s landscapes vital and connected across three pillars of impact: working lands, wildlife habitat, and water resources. Explore Our Work →
