Barker Mtn Summit Hike! Saturday, Sept. 24

Join OLT on a hike to the summit of Barker Mountain! We’ll enjoy incredible views of the North Cascades and discuss the ecology and history of Barker Mountain, a private preserve owned by The Nature Conservancy and usually not open to the public.

This hike will take us to the summit of Barker Mountain, 4-5 miles roundtrip. Includes uphill and off-trail hiking in shrub steppe and forest terrain. Please wear suitable clothing and bring water, snacks, and sun protection!

Email info@okanoganlandtrust.org or call (509) 557-6306 with any questions!

Directions: Barker Mountain is a private preserve with limited parking and other infrastructure, so we will be parking on private land by gracious permission of the preserve’s neighbors. In order to be respectful of these neighbors, we will meet at a designated location before driving together to the access point. Please meet us at the bottom of Siwash Creek Road at 8:00am; we will leave promptly at 8:15. We recommend carpooling if possible to lessen the number of cars. We look forward to a great day outdoors together!
